Found this benchmarking software today called Geekbench. It basically tests your computer's overall ability in processor and memory performance and then gives you a total score allowing you to compare your computers performance with other types of computer.
The lowest score recorded so far is 7 and the highest 22357. Quite a big difference, but for an average computer you should really not be getting lower than about 500
.So if you decide to download Geekbench (Linux, Mac, Windows and Solaris compatible) post your scores below!

i got 2087 from a HP 2GHz 2 core 3 Gig ram comp
