Free Music With Spotify Invite

I have noticed recently that Spotify is become increasingly popular, so popular in fact that its now an invite only signup.

So what exactly is Spotify? Well its a brand new music player that allows you to stream music direct to your computer, for free.

Its very easy to use and offers a wide selection of music all set out in an iTunes-ish layout. You can even create your own playlists full of your favorite songs .



But wait a second, how can it be free? Well to cover their costs they offer a premium account, with added extras and upgrades. Also on the free version there are occasional ad's which are removed if you get the premium account. I found the ad's to be easily bearable with only the occasional advert every now and again.



The downsides are that its currently only available in Sweden, Norway, Finland, the UK, France and Spain but they are planning to expand to other countries soon. Also not every music track is available, however when I was testing it, I found practically all of the popular chart songs.

The tech specs for Spotify are that for bandwidth they recommend 256 kbit/s and a nice chunk of free space. You can run the application on Mac OS X 10.4 or later, Windows XP or later and even on Linux through Wine.

Ok, I really want Spotify, but how do I get an account, I went to their site and it says the free version is only available if you have an invite, and I don't have one!

Spotify has become so popular, with over 5 million accounts, that they now only let your signup to the free virsion if you have an invite, and to get an invite, you have to be sent one from someone with a Spotify premium account.

There are however other ways to get signed up.
