Slingbox On The iPhone

24th June, 2009

The Slingbox has been around for awhile now but has only recently become more well known as, for example, company's such as PC World start to advertise it. Seeing as at this point some people may still be saying to themselves "What in the world is a Slingbox?" I though that I would quickly go over what it actually does Big Grin.

The Slingbox range, produced by Sling Media, bascily alllows you to watch and control your TV from anywhere in the world. Provided you have a good interent connection. The Slingbox Solo is one of the more popular models that allows you to do this. One you have connected up your Slingbox you simply use the SlingPlayer software to view and control the TV from your Mac or PC.

You can now also use SlingPlayer software on compatable mobile phones Operating systems including BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian and now the iPhone OS 3.0. (The phone compatable software will cost you, but not much).

Sling Media iPhone App Shot

The Slingbox and the iPhone software that goes with it has been getting good reviews so far and people have been finding it easy to use and setup. Take a look at http://www.slingmedia.com/go/iphone for information on the SlingPlayer software for iPhone and http://www.slingmedia.com if you want to check out their website.

Thanks for reading Big Grin
